"On Wednesday night, after a threat was sent to this embassy and police descended on this building, you came out in the middle of the night to watch over it, and you brought the worlds eyes with you. Inside this embassy after dark I could hear teams of police swarming up into the building through the internal fire escape," Assange said.
Outside the embassy, supporters gathered to photograph and livestream Assange's speech as he reflected on the events of Wednesday night regarding the "direct" threat Ecuador received from the authorities in London that they [were] prepared to storm the Ecuadorian Embassy and arrest Assange if he is not delivered to their custody.
"But I knew there'd be witnesses. And that was because of you," Assange said this morning.
