It's Saturday afternoon; I should be getting off a plane in NYC, but at the last minute I was unable to go to New York the OWS Anniversary.
In solidarity with Occupiers in New York this weekend, I will do my best to update this page and tweet important information about the #S17nyc anniversary.
If you haven't already, visit the #S17NYC website and learn how to register to get up to the minute info by Texting "@S17NYC" to 23559.
For real-time updates from the streets, Twitter is by far the most effective form of communication. #S17nyc is a great hashtag to follow to keep updated. People don't even need to have a twitter account to read tweets they'll see when clicking on the link above.
Already I'm seeing live tweets about barricades and NYPD preparations. In his article Occupy Wall Street plans to surround NYSE to mark anniversary Chris Francescani describes "NYPD [as being] READY FOR CONFRONTATIONS"
In addition to the terrific resources on the #S17NCY website, anonoccubloc has provided some excellent resources on their website, which will be helpful for anyone offering on ground support or attending the OWS Anniversary in NY. Remember, those who cannot attend can show solidarity by watching livestream and sharing this information with anyone who needs it.
I've republished a few of the important numbers below, but you should really check out their entire post #S17NYC Organizers Legal | #NYC Newspapers City Government and #NYPD CONTACT INFO #OccupyWallSt #S17 for more details and excellent resources.

Watching livestream should not be a passive activity. Sharing the link, recording what you see either by tweeting, blogging, using Facebook (my least favorite due to security issues) or writing it down with a pen and paper to share later are important. The viewer may be removed from the streets, but he/she can usually network more quickly during a protest than those participating can.
When watching livestream (Ustream, Bambuser, etc) it's important to know the hashtags. It looks like #S17nyc is one of the best ones, and this allows citizen journalists to clarify if an action is happening on Saturday September 15 by using the #S15 hashtag as well. The #OCAM hashtag allows people to quickly search Twitter for Occupy related livestream links. Tweeting what's happening in the stream is important, and streamers really appreciate it. Just be sure to tweet what you see, and ask the streamer to verify if you're confused. Tweeting what you hear other people say they heard in a livestream can lead to panic if someone mistakenly tweets "Arrests happening now at such and such..." when it has not been verified.
I also suggest having a back-up Twitter account to use if you are unfortunate enough to end up in Twitter Jail.

If offering livestream support and posting public tweets to share information the mainstream media is ignoring, perhaps that is what I am best equipped to offer this weekend.
With Love and Solidarity,
